DNA pioneer claims black people less intelligent

The DNA pioneer James Watson came under fire today from a government minister and his own research laboratory, as they rushed to condemn his claim that black people are less intelligent than whites.
As the furore over his assertions intensified, senior representatives of Dr Watson’s US research centre, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, sought to distance themselves from his claims.

White Students In Blackface Mocking “Jena 6″

Few white Louisiana college students dressed in black face have decided to reenacted the “Jena 6″ assault .
A friend came along,took photos and videotaped the staged attack.
Eventually posted the images on one of the participant’s Facebook page.
The pictures,were taken late last month on the bank of the Ouachita River and were posted to the Facebook page of Kristy Smith, a freshman nursing student.Her album of images was entitled “The Jena 6 on the River.”
In the video, three students with mud smeared across their bodies stomp on a fourth student, while two of the participants are heard saying, “Jena 6.”
One man can also be heard saying, “Niggers put the noose on.”
John Edwards :”Pretty Soon We’re Not Going to Have a Young African-American Male Population”

During an MTV/MySpace.com forum on Thursday, John Edwards,predicated the doom of African-American males.
Edwards said that if he is not elected president, the population of Black-American males will most likely end up in jail or dead.
The democratic presidential candidate responded to a question about inner-city kids partaking in violence by saying:
“We start with the president of the United States saying to America, ‘we cannot build enough prisons to solve this problem.
And the idea that we can keep incarcerating and keep incarcerating — pretty soon we’re not going to have a young African-American male population in America.
They’re all going to be in prison or dead. One of the two.”

Barely Political’s ‘Obama Girl’ Sexes Up Obama Campaign

The biggest hit on the Web yesterday was a video of a busty woman writhing around in a bikini next to a poster of a bare-chested Sen. Barack Obama and singing a catchy pop song about her love for the presidential candidate.
Titled “I’ve Got a Crush on Obama,” (click here to view video ) the silly-but-steamy video, was watched by more than a half million people in a day. It was even getting some radio play. Read more
Father absence “decimates” black community in U.S.

For Chris Gardner, who was played by Will Smith in the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness,” fatherhood is the greatest job in the world.
“There’s no pay. There are no benefits. You don’t get time off. You don’t get a break,” he said. “But once in a while you get to see your child shine and you say to yourself, ‘That’s my boy. That’s my girl.”‘
It is also a job that Gardner and others believe is increasingly in trouble in the United States, even as the country gives its annual Fathers Day salute on June 17. Read more
